Southern California Edison (SCE Corp) is a subsidiary of Edison International that provides electricity to more than 15 million people in Southern California excluding the City of Los Angeles and some other cities. Southern California Edison offers two different types of residential plans: Time-Of-Use (TOU) Rate Plans and Tiered Rate Plan to choose from. TOU plans offer rates based on the time of day. Customers can take advantage of lower electricity rates during nights and weekends, while paying higher during peak hours when energy resources are in demand. With Tiered Rate Plan customers pay a single rate for a baseline amount of energy each month while paying higher rate at Tier 2 for usage over baseline.
